Pâtisserie Michaud was founded by Ms. Colette Michaud, a cake mom who cooked her desserts for the entire neighborhood. Her creations were so popular that she decided to open her own patisserie in 1983.

The company was taken over by his son, Mario Michaud and his wife Sophie Alain. Together, they have propelled us thanks to the diversification of sales channels and operational excellence which allows us to offer the best cakes at competitive prices.

Since its beginnings in 1983, Pâtisserie Michaud’s mission is to create desserts that remind us of childhood in all its joy, pleasure and comfort.

Today, we distribute our products across Canada and we can count on several solid business partnerships with major restaurant, hotel and food chains and even with major brands that distribute our products. under their own name.

1983

Pâtisserie Michaud was founded by Ms. Colette Michaud, and worked with her husband, Mr. Michaud. Ms Colette opened the bakery in partnership with her friend Murielle Côté (who left the company a few years later).

Mario Michaud, son of Colette, and his wife Sophie Alain acquired the company.

1994-2010

The company distributes its desserts exclusively in grocery stores. The company grew on a solidly established foundation, resulting from the work of the owners. It is also Mario who takes care of taking daily orders from customers, as well as tastings and customer service.

2010

Sales continue to grow, Pâtisserie Michaud cakes are available in restaurants and grocery stores across Canada.

Pâtisserie Michaud innovates by developing a new sales channel by designing desserts and Christmas logs intended for fundraising campaigns for organizations, sports teams and schools.

2016

Pâtisserie Michaud cakes are now distributed in thousands of points of sale including several hotels, restaurants and major grocery store chains.

The company is in its third expansion, now operating a modern 22,500 square foot factory with large production capacity.

2019

Expansion project that doubles production capacity. In just a few months, the new robotic production line installed by Pâtisserie Michaud has made it possible to increase the production of desserts by 40%, including the famous Christmas logs. The implementation of this technological shift towards industry 4.0 was made possible thanks to investments totaling just over a million dollars supported by Investissement Québec and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. .

2020

The company is beginning an internal transformation that creates a strong corporate culture, where pleasure is at the center of management and promotes innovation and creativity in order to position itself as a leader in its field.

2022

Pâtisserie Michaud is now SQF (Safe Quality Food) certified. This certification, recognized internationally, focuses on a system for controlling risks related to food quality and safety.

At Michaud, we are committed to maintaining high quality standards in order to ensure the safety of the cakes produced, to offering our customers and consumers products that meet the strictest health, food safety and compliance requirements. according to current standards.

2024

Pâtisserie Michaud is celebrating its 40th anniversary in style. Now with 60 employees and benefiting from a strong employee culture, the organization is firmly established and ready for its next stage of growth.
